PROHIBITION is an immersive guest experience, featuring six incredible women who sing, dance and interact with the audience during the performance. We’re seeking comedic musical theatre performers who are comfortable with audience interaction and participation.



20s-40s year old, Black/African American female. Triple Threat. Must be confident with comedic text, audience interaction and improvisation. Sassy, sultry and hilarious,Madam Lulu White is the proprietor of Mahogany Hall and a staple of the Storyville entertainment scene. Known throughout the country for her larger than life productions and ability to keep a secret, she’s the host of the evening and runs the classiest illegal joint in New Orleans. [LEAD]


20s-30s years olds, all ethnicities female. Alto. Triple Threat. Must be confident with comedic text and audience interaction. A Storyville “Renaissance man”with a hearty laugh and a dark past, Mr. Mac is the heartbeat of Mahogany Hall. [Ensemble]


20s-30s, all ethnicities female. Soprano with strong belt. Triple threat. Comedic role, strong dancer. One of her numbers, Tiptoe Through The Tulips is a light, is a legit soprano early 1920s song, whereas her two other numbers, I Wanna Be Bad and I Wanna Be Loved By You are belted. She’s a dominatrix who is studying to be a nurse by day and is in the business of breaking hearts by night. [Ensemble]


20s-30s, Black/African American female. Mezzo-Sporano. Triple Threat. This role will potentially also cover Lulu White. Comedic role, strong dancer, must be body confident. Bessie sings one of the productions showstoppers, "Ain’t Misbehavin’" as a burlesque tease. [Ensemble]


20s-30s, all ethnicities female. Soprano. Comedic Role, Strong Dancer. Fresh off the boat from France, Imogen has come to New Orleans to escape the political unrest of Europe. What she lacks in grasp of the English language she makes up for in sensuality. [Ensemble]


20s-30s, all ethnicities female. Mezzo- Soprano. Dancer. Must be able to dance a solo number en pointe. The French silken swan of New Orleans. She speaks through her movement verses English. [Ensemble]

SYNOPSIS – PROHIBITION sizzles at Miss Lulu’s infamous New Orleans Storyville speakeasy, Mahogany Hall, on January 16, 1919, the last night that alcohol is legal in the United States. Come be regaled with tales of underground bootleggers; dance the night away with Miss Lulu’s girls, and sing your heart out as you toast to “the end of the world” with six delectable cocktails!
