Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is seeking Theatrical Wig Supervisors for their “Broadway Series” productions. These positions require a six-month commitment at sea onboard some the worlds most luxurious cruise ships after training and rehearsal in Tampa, FL at the Norwegian Creative Studios. Applicant should have experience in styling and maintaining wigs as well as the ability to cut and style human hair. Previous experience in running shows and creating period and highly detailed hairstyles with lace wigs is required.



  • Execute and maintain designs set by Fleet Wig Master and Designers, by following show bibles.
  • Repair, construct, clean and prep wigs for the run of the show.
  • Cut and colour performers hair based on creative team approved looks (This includes men and women of all hair types and textures).
  • Provide Makeup consultations and colour matching for cast members.
  • Assist cast members with wigs, make-up, quick changes and fittings in both set-up and run of show.
  • Organize and maintain make-up and wig work area
  • Inventory and distribute all cosmetology supplies needed for production.
  • Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to established safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with millinery projects set by Lead Wardrobe.
  • In addition to all cosmetology related duties, the Wig Supervisor takes on the role of a theatrical dresser during performances
  • Preform all other job related duties as requested.


  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Theatrical Costuming/Wig and make up, AND/OR
  • Licensed Vocational Cosmetology training with focus in wigs and make up is preferred; OR any equivalent combination of relevant and work related skills and experience through apprenticeships.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ theatrical wig experience on Broadway style musical, OR
  • Minimum of 2 years’ theatrical wig experience on tour or in regional summer stock companies.


  • Expertise in theatrical wig construction (Bubbling, cap construction, ventilation).
  • Expertise in theatrical wig maintenance, styling, washing, drying, fitting, blocking, hair prep.
  • Expertise in salon cosmetology (barbering, cutting, colouring, colour correction).
  • Expertise in make up application.• Understanding of millinery and sewing.
  • Understanding of theatrical wig practices and principles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
  • Sound problem-solving skills.
  • Work well with different personalities and nationalities within cruise line industry.
